Three large-leaved indoor plants sold together as a starter set for anyone building a room full of foliage.
The set is put together from the striking, boldly patterned varieties in stock at the time, so the three plants you receive are chosen for leaf shape and size rather than for flowers. They arrive as established plants, each with a 1 litre root ball, ready to pot into containers of your own.
All three want a bright position out of direct sun, which would scorch large leaves. Keep them between about 15C and 25C, away from cold draughts and away from radiators. Let the top two centimetres of compost dry before watering again, and cut back on water through autumn and winter when growth slows. They like humidity, so mist the foliage or stand the pots on a tray of damp pebbles. Feed with a balanced liquid houseplant feed every two to four weeks from April to September, and none at all in winter. Wipe the leaves occasionally; on plants this size, dust makes a real difference.
